Tragèdia
Àlex Rigola is stepping back from his directing role at Teatre Lliure. But it remains unclear whether he’s giving up the privileged vantage point from which he observes the world of theatrical creativity. His latest work “Tragèdia” is a visual poem about Nietzsche’s first book "The Birth of Tragedy", from which you’ll come out not crying but laughing. Nietzsche’s text might not exactly have you in stitches – it’s more about intellectual wit, twists of the mind and serene ruptures. Because our intellect, unmastered by all and nonexistent for many, apparently grows out of rupture. And although Àlex Rigola has not broken, he’s a bit shaken up, albeit by “Rock’n’roll”, or now, tragically original, maybe by illustrating death in order to be reborn.
