El petit Eiolf
by Henrik Ibsen
In the stalls it's always good to be waiting for performance of one of Henrik Ibsen's works, an enjoyable author to experience whether it is read, performed or reinterpreted. In the flying saucers of theatre works, those that ripple the ponds of consciousness more and more as the years go by and, of course, push societies to evolve, are in one way or another our daily bread (Shakespeare, forgive us, for we know not what we do). This late work from Ibsen comes strongly and morally charged. In Toni Casares' version, the theatre cafe keeps its aroma and body, potency and intensity in a way that few of us will be survivors of the display of moral dilemmas that we overcome every day with happiness, forethought and premeditation. Ibsen was born in art’s heaven.
