DAVID SELVAS

Hedda Gabler
by Henrik Ibsen

Henrik Ibsen is, for the world of theatre and literature in general, like a door behind which one finds a different perspective on oneself and others each time one opens it. This perspective is subtle and harsh but always perfectly formed. "Hedda Gabler" is the story of a woman who never relinquishes her desire to control the destiny of others and the game that this entails. Laia Marull returns to the stage under the direction of David Selvas, giving life to a character who, through not knowing how to act in her own life, has a dramatic and amoral influence on her environment. The balance between morals, self-esteem and expectations becomes a mirror for past and present society which requires the renunciation of oneself as a hallmark. This play now showing at the Lliure de Gràcia is already a resounding success.
