Shakespeare said through the mouth of Hamlet that the question was to be or not to be. Today to be or not to be is only referred to economic success, and short-term, never to long ways. But the case of Vincent van Gogh does not respond to any of this. He was a painter, tormented, traumatized, misunderstood and lived thanks to the help from his family. Now change each of his works can break records at auction and everyone knows there is a painter very, very famous, called Van Gogh. However he ended up committing suicide without receiving compliments, rather the opposite.
Ever Blanchet wrote a monologue focusing on his conflicting periods since his crisis in Borinage, at 27 years, until his last moments before he committed suicide at age 37. This work premiered at the Grec Festival ten years ago, is now returning starred by Marti Peraferrer to let us see how the personal suffering and the creative path led to Vincent Van Gogh to be one of the most renowned painters of the world, although it was right after his death.
